Grain trading muted before holiday

CHICAGO, July 3 (UPI) -- Cool, wet weather in the corn belt and dry weather overseas left grain trading muted on the Chicago Board of Trade Thursday.

Forecasts for the corn belt indicate cooler weather than previously expected. Wheat gained as dry weather persists in Australia and Argentina. Cooler weather ahead also held back soybean trades Thursday, traders said.

Soybeans: Jul 16.58, up 12 1/4; Aug 16.49, up 9 1/2; Sep 16.37 1/4, up 5 1/4; Nov 13.31, up 1.

Wheat: Jul 8.72 3/4, up 7 1/2; Sep 8.87 1/2, up 7 1/4; Dec 9.10 1/4, up 6 3/4; Mar 9.31 1/2, up 7.
